The City of White Plains is committed to ensuring that there are sufficient affordable housing opportunities throughout the city. The goal is to provide equal opportunity to all residents seeking affordable, healthy, safe, and stable homes.

The cost of housing in Westchester County has become a significant concern, prompting the City of New Rochelle to prioritize affordable housing initiatives. The City has implemented affordable housing legislation for new private developments, mandating a minimum number of affordable units or a contribution to an Affordable Housing Fund used to finance new units.

The Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers is the second largest public housing authority in the NYC area. MHACY also owns and/or manages over 2000 apartments that are located within eighteen properties that are situated throughout Yonkers.

The Town of Bedford created the Town Housing Agency to administer fair and affordable housing created under the requirements of the Town's Zoning Law. Dwelling units may be created by different methods in several of the Town's zoning districts.

There are, at present, two properties in Irvington which include affordable rental units: The Burnham Building, located at 2 Main Street, and Hudson Views at Irvington, located at 1 South Astor Street.
